Anyone looking to get their hands on a 16-inch Intel MacBook Pro will find it very difficult, with stocks drying up in the United States. This stems from the fact that the company has plenty of rumors that new M1X-powered 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro machines are waiting behind the scenes.

Intel’s current 16-inch MacBook Pro has been around for a few years and should be refreshed. However, there have been few signs of this in terms of Intel, with Apple instead keen to move its machines to its own M-series chips. Rumors say this is set to happen overnight and this new shortage is still fueling this fire.

The inventory check of the current model in Apple Stores currently shows that the machines are no longer available for in-store pickup. Ordering for delivery sees delivery windows of up to seven working days.

The refreshed 16-inch MacBook Pro, along with its smaller 14-inch version, is expected to bring a new mini-LED display to the lineup. That, coupled with the mighty M1X chip – likely based on the iPhone 13 Pro’s A15 chip – should make it the best Mac yet for people who need a portable powerhouse. Losing the Touch Bar shouldn’t cause too many sleepless nights, either.

Now we are waiting. Apple should host some sort of online event ASAP – unless all the rumors are wrong again!
