Well Being Trust appoints Dr. Benjamin F. Miller as president

Prior to joining Well Being Trust in 2017, Dr Miller spent eight years as Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado School of medicine where he was founding director of the Eugene S. Farley, Jr. Health Policy Center. Under his leadership, the Center worked on policies related to the integration of mental health and primary care, payment reform, workforce efforts, and community prevention to assist key decision makers. to positively improve mental health in their communities.

These are the first experiments of Dr. Miller – helping emotionally disturbed children navigate school, people with breast cancer cope with their diagnosis, prisoners planning a successful return to society and working in primary care clinics – this has helped her showed how the continued marginalization and fragmentation of mental health in America has ripple effects across all strata of society.

Dr. Miller received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, completed his pre-doctoral internship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and worked as a postdoctoral fellow in primary care psychology at University of Massachusetts School of Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.

He has received numerous awards for his work, and he has also written and published widely on ways to better integrate mental health, including through policy changes.

Dr Miller is a much sought-after expert in the field and recently testified before Congress on ways our country could pursue stronger policy change in mental health. He is also author of the weekly newsletter Mental: tackling the fragmentation of mental health one policy at a time.
