The Hive’s first building opens in downtown Kamloops

The Hive is a project along Lansdowne Avenue between Fifth and Sixth Avenues by A&T Project Developments Inc and Invictus Properties Inc.

The first of three office buildings that make up The Hive was officially opened on Thursday, June 16.

The Hive is a project along Lansdowne Avenue, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, implemented by A&T Project Developments Inc and Invictus Properties Inc.

The first building, at the corner of Lansdowne and Fifth, is six stories tall and spans 60,000 square feet. It is the first Class A commercial building to be built in the Kamloops area in nearly 20 years.

Tenants set to move into The Hive include Urban Systems, McMillan Dubo Law Group, Investors Group Wealth Management, Smile Dentistry, Business Development Bank of Canada, William Wright Commercial Real Estate Services and Stills House, a new local distillery created by the team behind Cordo Resto + Bar at nearby Delta by Marriott Kamloops.

“For me, what makes this project so exciting is how community spirit is celebrated through this space in so many ways,” says Brittany Cameron of Urban Systems Ltd.

“First, our company’s roots run deep in Kamloops, as we were founded here over 46 years ago. Being part of The Hive gives us the opportunity to show how invested we are in the community spirit of downtown Kamloops. And second, being able to create a beautiful, vibrant space for our people to come together, do good work, connect, and enjoy this beautiful setting also strengthens our own sense of community.

A selection of office space remains available for purchase/lease. The development includes above ground and underground parking.

The commercial development was announced in January 2020, hot on the heels of Kamloops Council’s decision to extend its permissive tax exemption by-law in North Kamloops’ downtown and business district to commercial developments.
