One of Tampa’s top chefs has more to offer.
Michael Buttacavoli, chef at upscale Italian restaurant Cena, will open a casual pizzeria concept next door, according to Tampa Bay Business Journal (TBBJ). The pizzeria, Butta’s second restaurant, is as yet unnamed but is expected to open to hungry eaters in the coming months.
The casual restaurant’s menu will include classics such as pizza, subs, pasta, salad, “all-inclusive” beer, liquor and wine, but will also take on a modern twist and Cena- esque and “will not just be a pizzeria,” says Buttacavoli.
Cena’s outdoor pizza bar and eight TVs became a popular spot for locals during the Bucs and Lightning playoffs, popularizing Cena’s outdoor-only dining menu, such as his traditional Italian pizza and subs. meatball parmesan sailors that beat celebrity chef Bobby Flay. will be on the menu of the new concept.
The acclaimed chef says the pizzeria will have its own identity and shouldn’t be considered a sister restaurant to the modern Cena, but its dishes will be made with similar high-quality ingredients and flavors.
