Take a bite | night of the spirits

October is the best month to indulge in all things dark, dreamy, and beautifully haunting. Darkness falls upon us earlier, the trees are ablaze with color and there is a whisper in the air of all things spooky. As the season progresses, there are many collaborations in the region to celebrate Halloween on many levels. BfloBiteClub and Revolution Gallery collaborate on an intimate, one-night-only evening to toast the season with unique seasonal culinary delights, unveiled artwork exclusive to this evening, and paired wines by Eric Frick of Cuvée Imports.

Revolution Gallery is a local pop-surrealist gallery that houses an extensive collection of works by over 60 international, national and local artists. Hertel Ave Gallery offers a moving atmosphere exhibiting dark, macabre and grotesquely elegant art intertwined with a sultry wine bar, DJs and ongoing musical performances and seasonal events. The flame torches outside create a certain mystique about Hertel to draw people in and once inside the cozy bar nestled among the macabre artwork with subtly gothic or new age music spinning keeps you wanting more . The dark season is particularly revered by the gallery, as October is enjoyed and observed with such deep admiration that owners, Craig LaRotonda and Maria Pabico were married, all dressed in black during their cherished month.

BfloBiteClub is a private dining club created by two local chefs, James Cappiello and Kristie Pottle to cook, experiment, test ideas and post about their time together. Their friendship has always involved cooking or eating, so they’ve made it more accessible to share with others and collaborate in the community. BfloBiteClub has grown to include local collaborations for special food-focused events and/or fundraising efforts. These gatherings are somewhat specific and limited, as James is in finance and Kristie is a private chef for some local Bills & Sabers athletes.

To kick off spooky season, join Revolution Gallery, BfloBiteClub and Erik Frick this Saturday.
