Piano dueling takes center stage at Beach Boulevard, a new bar in Buena Park – Orange County Register

It’s like a human jukebox: just make your requests and two pianists will sing and play your favorite tunes live at the Beach Boulevard Club in Buena Park.

Presented by the owners of Pirates Dinner Adventure, the club will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, January 20. The concept is 21+ and it’s just the thing for birthdays, hen parties or just a night out with friends. , says show director Jason James.

“We play in all genres, all decades. We don’t have a set list, but our musicians have played all over the world, from cruise ships to NBA halftime shows in sold-out arenas to dueling piano bars in Texas, Florida, in California and a ton of states,” he said. “Every player has a huge range of music. That’s what makes it fun. You add a second person on stage and you’ve pretty much doubled your repertoire.

The show is free with a minimum of two drinks/two items per person. The menu from Horacio Martinez, the head chef of Pirates Dinner Adventure, has something for everyone with complete meals of pork loin ($18), roast chicken ($18) or giant turkey leg ($16). $). Indulgent upgrades include the lobster tail ($17) or the shrimp plate ($16). For vegetarians, there’s butternut squash ravioli ($16) and vegans can enjoy a black bean and corn patty ($16).

Individual entrees range from $10-$20 or get a sampler platter for the table ($25) loaded with chicken wings, cheese sticks, jalapeño poppers and meatballs. There will be a full bar serving beer, wine and cocktails, including a special dessert called Key Lime Pie.

The dinner and show will be presented in the space that was previously used for the Teatro Martini variety dinner show. The decor of the 5,000 square foot showroom, with 160 seats, is reminiscent of the 1920s, “an elegant era,” with dark wood and red velvet curtains.

But customers don’t have to dress up completely.

“We have people of all ages, from all walks of life,” James said. “We have tourists, we have locals. Whether you’re an avid music lover or just like a good night out, it’s a social atmosphere. It’s for anyone who just loves good entertainment with a dash of comedy.

Safety rules: Masks will be required indoors, regardless of vaccination status — unless patrons are immobile and eating/drinking — through Feb. 15, as required by the state of California. Once this has been lifted, anyone who has not been vaccinated will still need to wear a mask indoors. Seats will also be adjusted to allow space between games and all surfaces will be wiped down between games. The Beach Boulevard Club will follow CDC recommendations and all state requirements.
