The Heights House Hotel in the Boylan Heights neighborhood of Raleigh has joined the creative cocktail scene. An intimate bar, The Parlor at Heights House, opens on June 1 to give visitors the opportunity to sip and taste the iconic residence recently named “World’s Best New Hotel” by Travel + Leisure.
The Parlor serves a selection of Italian-inspired cocktails, an all-Italian wine list and local craft beer as well as cheese and charcuterie boards.
The salon will be open by reservation only on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Places are limited and available for groups of up to six people only.
“With the opening of the Parlor at Heights House Hotel, we are thrilled to now offer non-hotel guests – and especially our neighbors and Raleigh residents – the opportunity to enjoy this historic property in a casual and relaxed way. – and maybe even consider how they would come back for a stay or to host a private event,” said Heights House co-owner Sarah Shepherd.

Guests can mingle in the four front common rooms of the Italianate mansion – the Parlor, Parlor, Library, and Dining Room. Each mixes modern and vintage touches, with hand-selected artwork, light fixtures, vintage rugs, and bespoke furniture.
Raleigh native Will Bryant, formerly of Charlotte’s Fin & Fino, is the director and mixologist responsible for the Parlor’s cocktail program. It will open with five personalized cocktails:
The villa features Empress Gin, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, house-made sage vermouth, and citrus in a purple-hued cocktail.
Macaluso is affectionately named after manager Bryant’s great-grandmother, who was Sicilian. Old granddad Bourbon is combined with orange-infused Aperol and Cardamaro for a riff on the classic Paper Plane cocktail.
1858 honors the year the historic home was built with a Paloma-meets-Lemoncello-style cocktail.
philosophy of romanticism pays homage to the house with an elegant fizz of hibiscus-infused vodka, homemade limecello and bubbles.
Pesca SpritzMaison Spirtz offers Tanquray Sevilla Orange with homemade peach-infused Lillet, fresh lime and San Pellegrino.
