Another new drinking spot is expected to open in the fast-developing neighborhood of Government Hill.
The spot will join a rush of new additions to the area, including Three Star Bar, which opened in October, and second Italian mainstay Guillermo’s in December. The team behind Little Em’s Oyster Bar and Upscale in Southtown also plans to open a Southern restaurant next year called Restaurant Claudine.
“We plan to turn it into a little neighborhood bar with beer and wine, focusing on local brews,” Jeremy Rushing told the Express-News.
The 1,200 square foot location sat vacant for more than a decade, having housed a VFW station and other drinking establishments.
The couple told the daily that it will require major renovations, meaning Manguera SA is unlikely to be in service until 2024. By then, who knows how many more drinking and dining outlets will have popped up at Government Hill.
