n international model Constance Jablonski is the picture of health, but you wouldn’t think so with her diary.
The Lille beauty has a terrifying schedule, zapping from one fashion show to another to walk for top designers – Dior, Gucci, Burberry and Balmain, to name a few – while appearing on countless magazine covers and front campaigns for beauty behemoths like Guerlain. All of this activity is sure to take its toll on ordinary people, but Jablonski’s complexion is flawless.
Part of that is due to a carefully considered skincare regimen, but it has a lot to do with her decision to get sober, a lifestyle choice many are making as we collectively wake up to the unpleasant effects of excessive alcohol consumption.
In the modeling world, parties are commonplace, but Jablonski, along with her friend Maggie Frerejean-Taittinger (yes, this Taittinger), who was pregnant at the time, wanted to find another way to celebrate and be social without the crushing hangover and skin damage. Thus was born the non-alcoholic brand French Bloom.
The organic sparkling drink is made with French grapes that allows you to raise a glass while preserving your well-being.
The model entrepreneur took five minutes out of her busy schedule to answer our burning questions about beauty, booze, and the best of yourself.
Tell us about French Bloom, what inspired you to create the brand?
French Bloom was born from the desire to create a product that allows usability without compromising health. It’s a brand I started with my friend Maggie when we realized how few options there were on the market that met our expectations for an alternative to festive bubbly.
Maggie was pregnant with twins at the time, and I was busier than ever traveling the world and constantly changing time zones. We both understood how important our social lives were, but we didn’t necessarily want to drink alcohol on our outings and work engagements. The alternative? The sparkling water quickly got tiring and it just didn’t have the party bubbles we were looking for.
In this spirit, we set out to create a product that provided as much pleasure as his desire for well-being and after more than two years of R&D, we created our fully certified organic and vegan ranges of alcohol-free French Bubbly; White and Rosé. Both are sulfite-free, low in calories, and have no added sugars or preservatives.
Abstinence is in fashion. Why do you think so many people give up alcoholic beverages?
More than ever, people want to take care of themselves. We strive to be the best version of ourselves, optimizing every moment of everyday life and living life to the fullest. We started French Bloom to create an alternative to high-end alcoholic sparkling wine – we are not against drinking, but we believe in the importance of offering an easily available alternative, allowing people to have a choice.
What does wellness mean to you?
I base my well-being on four main pillars; a fun social life, a successful career, good nutrition and staying active by practicing daily movements. Making sure I am balancing each of these four pillars every day is essential for me to both feel and look my best.
What’s the easiest way to start healthy living?
I think the easiest way is to make sure you have a clear routine. Healthier habits become easier to follow when they become automatic and you don’t have to think about them too much. For example, try starting each day with a glass of water when you wake up or stretch for five minutes each day. Creating these little habits sets you up for success. It’s important to make sure that the goals you set are achievable and that you can build on them day by day, week by week.
Tell us about your beauty routine
For me, my beauty routine is as much about what makes me look good as what makes me feel good. I start every day with a glass of water and during the day I drink at least two liters.
Walking my dog is something I do every morning, it’s an important part of my routine that helps me get away from it all and I find this time for myself in the fresh air to be very meditative.
Daily stretching is also a must for me, I try to find the time to do this for at least five to ten minutes each day. When it comes to my skin, I use a serum first, then a daily moisturizer for sensitive skin. I also take vitamin D and probiotics.
What are your travel essentials?
My travel essentials would be whatever book I was reading at the time, my iPhone, AirPods (with an updated Spotify playlist, of course!), sneakers (so I could work out a landed), eye drops and my signature Guerlain perfume.
Where in the world is your happy place, and why?
My happy place is definitely where my family, friends and boyfriend are. I travel alone for various modeling jobs throughout the year, however, I am happiest when I am at home surrounded by my loved ones. Whether in Paris, New York or my hometown of Lille, I make sure to spend quality time with the people I know and care about.
What thing can magically pull any outfit together?
Nothing beats a white shirt for men!
What are you most looking forward to in 2022?
I look forward to working alongside Maggie to continue developing French Bloom. I look forward to hosting more French Bloom events, helping us connect with our community and bring people together. Ultimately, I’m excited to be spending time with my friends and family and hopefully living a normal life without worrying about the pandemic.
