Lancaster Restaurant among England’s most authentic Italian restaurants

An Italian restaurant in Lancashire has been named ‘one of the most authentic outside of Italy’ at a prestigious awards ceremony.

Buccelli’s, on Church Street in Lancaster, was awarded ‘Italian Taste Certification ITA0039’ at the Italian Awards 2022.

The certification verifies the compliance of Italian restaurants with a checklist of specific requirements regarding raw materials, staff, menu, wine list and other criteria that guarantee a true Italian dining experience abroad.

That means it’s one of the best Italian restaurants in the UK outside of the country itself.

That wasn’t the only award the company won as its chef, Jake Brindley, was named ‘Italian Chef of the Year’; Buccelli’s was also highly recommended for “Best Deli and Cafe”.

Owner Bruno Buccelli said: “The results we have achieved this year have been above all expectations and we are overwhelmed.

“I would like to thank my wife Nicola, my children Mia, Isabella and Luca and the rest of my family who are my biggest ever supporters.

“My fantastic team Ben, Bonnie, Lizzy, Esther, Eva and Sophie, chef Theo and last but not least, the best Italian chef Jake Brindley.

“We would also like to thank our customers, without your constant support we could not obtain these prestigious awards.

“We were very honored to represent Lancaster in such an important competition and we are proud to shout loud and clear: Lancaster has the best Italian chef and the most authentic Italian restaurant in England.”

All of Buccelli’s food, drink and environment are influenced by Bruno’s Italian heritage and family traditions.

Buccelli’s is a combination Italian restaurant, cafe and wine bar.

The cuisine is inspired by the gastronomy of Rome and the Lazio region.

Many Buccelli’s products are authentically Italian and imported directly from Italian factories in Lancaster.

They organize pasta and pizza masterclasses, wine tastings and gastronomic events.
