Eliza Restaurant & Bar brings back her December New Year’s Eve meal | Food / Restaurants

Food plays a big part in Louisiana vacation traditions, including New Years Eve.

Derived from the French word for “awakening”, Réveillon is a community meal served after midnight mass on Christmas Eve. Families would come back from the late night service and feast on the food on the table or buffet.

For the third year, Eliza Restaurant & Bar, 7970 Jefferson Highway, is looking at New Years Eve in a different way. Instead of waiting for Christmas Eve, the restaurant offers its three-course New Year’s Eve menu throughout the month of December.

This year’s menu, available until December 30, includes specialties such as Gulf oysters and caviar, seared duck breast and praline cheesecake.

The $ 48 meal includes three courses, and individual dishes can be ordered a la carte.

Reservations are recommended. To see the full menu, visit elizabatonrouge.com.
