DDO Fine Arts & Crafts Holiday Market Returns November 12 & 13 | Community

The Marché des Fêtes DDO Beaux-Arts et Métiers d’art is back after a three-year hiatus, bigger and better than ever on Saturday and Sunday, November 12 and 13, spread over four floors in the Dollard-des -Renovated abalones.

The showcase, presented by the Dollard Arts Center (DCA), will include a craft market, a fine arts space, a renewed restaurant offer and a heated outdoor restaurant/bar on the roof terrace at the Étoile filante.

The market will feature works by more than 70 multi-generational artists and artisans, snacks, meals and gourmet coffee at the Craft Café, fun crafts, a Lego table for kids and live musical entertainment with guest artists as well as interludes on the little grand piano. Several kiosks will be selling items to benefit various causes, including Big Brothers Big Sisters Montreal and the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Needless to say, the pandemic has been difficult for the local arts and crafts community. “We have seen many professional artists forced to put aside their creative work to look for other employment,” said Patrick Charron, director general of the DCA. “We are thrilled to reconnect with members of the artisan community and offer them the opportunity to be (re)discovered, as well as to introduce customers to a wide selection of quality artisan gifts for their holiday season. year while supporting local artisans. »

Megan Bradley, special events coordinator at DCA, echoes the idea of diverting some of the money spent during the holidays to those who need it most. “The Marché des Fêtes is always a place of smiles where people share their creative passions and generously promote each other. It’s the perfect opportunity to not only buy something different that will stand out, but it means even more, as we actively choose to support our neighbors over big business CEOs.
