Canadian restaurants and bars highly recommended by the world’s 50 best

When it comes to the restaurant industry, Canada knows what’s going on. You’ll find the best restaurants and bars dotted across the country, so if you’re wondering which restaurant to try next, 50 Best Discovery just updated its recommendations. And a few Canadian food and beverage centers made the difference.

The World’s 50 Best is known for its prestigious ranking of must-visit restaurants and bars across Canada. But in addition to its ranking, the Top 50 team has a list it updates every year, full of the world’s best restaurants to check out.

The team sifts through thousands of votes cast in each of their restaurant and bar rankings to find the perfect ones to add to their database.

This year, 601 of the best bars and restaurants in the world have been added to the directory. Four of them are in Canada. L’Abatoir in Vancouver and Mon Lapin in Montreal were added to the directory and were the only two Canadian restaurants to be added.

As for bars, you can find them in Toronto. Bar Mordecai and Mother Cocktail Bar were listed due to their nostalgic hotel bar vibes and flavors, respectively.

For the first time ever, cities like Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cayman Islands, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia are now on 50 Best Discovery.

“Each year, the site becomes more diverse and spotlights more food scenes and awesome cuisines that may not have received enough votes to make it to the main top 50 lists, but which are always worth the detour,” says the 50 Best team.

And these are just new additions. Overall, 50 Best Discovery now includes 2,632 locations – 1,679 restaurants and 953 bars. That’s a lot of new foods to try!
