Brouwerij West / THINGS … For Your Head is looking for an exceptional and passionate Leader to join our team and grow our sales and distribution!

Our sales and distribution manager is responsible for all aspects of the sale and distribution of Brouwerij West beer and THINGS … For Your Head products in the wholesale market. The Director is responsible for increasing the revenue of our business by increasing our sales within our existing customer network and by developing and expanding our customer base. The Director reports to our senior management, oversees all sales professionals, and works with the rest of our team to grow our brand. Our sales manager must meet or exceed specific sales and revenue goals. The position requires someone with excellent interpersonal and direct marketing skills, able to work independently, take initiative, stay extremely organized, and supervise and lead a small team.

Main responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the wholesale division of our business, working with each of our distributors to maximize our sales.

  • Manage, lead, motivate and develop our team of sales professionals, including setting and tracking sales goals and guidelines to generate revenue in designated representative territories and hire new staff as needed.

  • Manage and run Brouwerij West and Things … For your main chain business, including chain assignments, clearances, new article submissions and display programs.

  • Provide high-level brand guidance and information, including brand performance goals, category and segment information, and other analysis requested by management.

  • Manage prices, forecasts, distributor orders and inventory.

  • Identify key markets for expansion. Research, interview and make recommendations for new wholesale partners to expand the reach of our brands.

  • Work closely with our CEO, CFO and production team to develop and execute an effective sales and distribution plan that will maximize revenue and increase our margin as our brewery’s capacity and production continues to grow. to augment.

  • Understand and embrace the Brouwerij West and THINGS … For Your Head brands and styles. Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the similarities, differences and competitive advantages of our products, methods and brands compared to other craft and mainstream breweries and the broader alcohol market.

  • Develop new customer relationships in all our distribution areas, in particular in chain placements.

  • Design a sales staff process that maintains and nurtures strong, long-term customer relationships.

  • Lead and manage our sales team to act as a communication channel for customer feedback regarding product quality and popularity, brand perception, competitor pricing and overall product satisfaction.

  • Respond and resolve all wholesalers’ issues and concerns.

  • Forecast seasonal sales, brand execution and wholesale revenue for Brouwerij West and THINGS … For Your Head with reasonable accuracy.

  • Lead weekly sales meetings to review sales data and brief the team on new beer releases, inventory, events and other sales related matters.

  • Monitor sales performance and metrics with Distributors, especially in our local market, using VIP / Karma / iDig and other platforms to maintain in-depth knowledge of each Distributor’s sales.

  • Keep abreast of current market conditions, trends and the quantity and quality of sales performance. Communicate information and recommendations to management that will help grow our brand, increase sales and increase distribution efficiency.

  • Coordinate with production and brewing teams to determine the supply of beer available for sale and distribution.

  • Manage California ABC price postings, ensuring accurate and timely posting of new items and changes as required by law.

  • Oversee our keg fleet by tracking picked up kegs and scheduling keg pickups.

  • Taste the beer and seltzer throughout the process to make sure you are familiar with all of the company’s products.

  • Work with and support company management on special projects as needed, including attending industry events and conferences.

Qualifications required

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the sale of craft beers and / or seltzer water (management experience preferred).

  • Expertise of the 3-tier system and its complexities.

  • Strong interest in the brewing process of beer and seltzer water, styles of beer, beer culture and the scientific principles governing fermentation. Must keep abreast of craft beer and seltzer water trends including style trends, competitive product launches, competitor pricing behavior and industry marketing techniques.

  • A flexible schedule that allows you to travel to visit new prospects and existing customers. Ability to multitask outside of the office to avoid business interruptions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to independently build relationships with customers and employees.

  • Ability to write professional emails and design and deliver an engaging and compelling oral presentation of our products and beer brand.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Accuracy of orders and record keeping should be maintained without supervision.

  • Ability to plan and manage distribution territories to ensure efficient distribution of our product in our various markets.

  • Superior problem solving skills and mathematical precision.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and MailChimp. Ability to learn and teach orchestrated beer.

  • Advanced knowledge of VIP, iDig, Karma.

  • Must be able to periodically lift and move objects such as kegs, beer crates and glassware crates.

  • A professional working style that is always polite, punctual, reliable and collaborative.

Company Description

Brouwerij West is a unique craft brewery and venue located in the San Pedro neighborhood of Los Angeles. Brouwerij West was founded in 2010 and we opened our San Pedro brewery in February 2016 in a former port warehouse originally built by the US Navy during WWII. The Brouwerij West operation encompasses 26,000 square feet of the Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles facility, of which 8,000 square feet is dedicated to visitor use for our tasting room and events, as well as a 17,000 square feet. pi. outdoor courtyard / outdoor garden.
