Algoma Public Health (APH) is today reporting thirty-three (33) new cases of COVID-19 (# 1,407 – 1,439), including 32 in Sault Ste. Marie and area and 1 from central and eastern Algoma. The number of active cases increased slightly to 263 while the number of hospitalized cases remained unchanged at 5.
In addition, APH is also reporting low risk public exposure to Wacky Wings located at 350 Lake Street in Sault Ste. Married.

Due to the large number of ongoing cases and the need to streamline processes, APH continues to use a streamlined format to report new cases of COVID-19 to Algoma.
Newly reported cases acquired their infection as follows:
- 11 are close contacts of confirmed cases
- 5 with unknown sources of infection
- 3 due to international travel
- 14 are currently under investigation to determine the source of the infection
