A British Columbia-born, Alberta-made, premium craft cocktail company is already enjoying huge success on store shelves.
Olé Cocktail Co., which launched its Paloma and Margarita canned goods in the summer of 2021, is sold in hundreds of retailers across the two provinces.
According to co-founder Jason Byrne, the number of stores wishing to offer Olé cocktails is increasing rapidly.
“We launched just over a month ago and are already sold in over 150 retailers in British Columbia and 100 in Alberta, and the retail and on-site network is growing every day,” Byrne said in an interview with Daily Hive.
“We were blown away by the first sales. The products were completely sold out within two weeks.
What sets Olé Cocktails apart from the competition are the ingredients used by the company.
“The market is full of either unsweetened drinks with alcohol, water and flavorings, or drinks with tons of sugar, preservatives and artificial ingredients,” Byrne explained. “We couldn’t find other companies that were making canned cocktails with more complex flavors, especially in the agave space.
“The idea of creating Olé Cocktail Co. came to us during the Cinco de Mayo 2020, in the midst of a pandemic. We got together with a small group of people and realized that there were few options for delicious canned cocktails, especially margaritas. We started to develop the perfect Margarita and Paloma recipes, put together a great team and 14 months later we sell them in store.
According to Byrne, the name Olé was chosen because it evokes feelings of celebration and excitement. Ole is also the middle name of one of the company’s founding partners.
Olé Cocktail Co. has used cleaner ingredients in its preserves of Margarita and Palmoa, including premium agave alcohol, real lime or grapefruit juice, organic agave nectar and a pinch. of sea salt. Canned cocktails are made with no added preservatives and contain less sugar than other options on the market.
“We’re focused on making great canned cocktails that people love to drink,” Byrne said. “We just finished our second batch and are currently shipping to stores as we speak.
The Calgary-made cocktail company intends to build on its successful launch, including adding new flavors that are not currently available on the market, including Spanish cocktails in its range, and offering Olé cocktails. to more people across the country. Olé is also concerned about its environmental impact and recently partnered with water.org.
“We want to continue to be at the forefront of innovation in canned beverages in all aspects, including how we can reduce our carbon footprint and be more environmentally friendly,” Byrne said. “We have very ambitious goals and expectations, but it’s all about enjoying the process. “
“It’s so rewarding to see people buying our product and talking about it on social media. We have worked so hard to bring the brand to where it is. We still have a long way to go and we are delighted to have the Olé community with us. They are the reason we are here.
