One of my favorite Orlando artists, Nina ramos, shared a post on Instagram a few months ago, about a fun girls’ night out that she recently enjoyed with one of her closest friends. Her friend won a fancy dinner at Christner’s and invited Nina to be his plus one. So, they used the dinner to celebrate their friendship and recognize their accomplishments over the past few years, while shamelessly indulging in wine, steak, desserts and more.
I love this idea.
To me, deep supportive friendships are just as important as our primary romantic relationship. It’s beautiful to plan a special night out with a close friend, just like you are planning a night out with your partner. So, inspired by Nina’s post and experience, below are some ideas for planning your own girls night out with a close friend to honor your friendship, share your accomplishments, and support each other.
Take a page from Nina’s book and dine in a fancy steakhouse! Personal favorites include Kres Chophouse (downtown Orlando – don’t skip the bread pudding for dessert), Christner’s, Knife & Spoon at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, and Bull and Bear.

My friend Hannah taught me everything I know about planning a great food tour. Before returning to her home state of Ohio, she was planning epic explorations for friends using the SunRail, Disney monorail, or the good old-fashioned ridesharing services. While these require a bit more planning in the logistics department, it is well worth it.
Here are some food crawl routes to inspire your culinary adventures:
Pajama party at the resort
Go big with a hotel night. Put on the luxury hotel’s bathrobes, pack face masks, and settle in for a resort-style slumber party. Earlier this year, one of my best friends and I spent the night at the Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach to celebrate his birthday. We got there early for a seaside brunch, packed our bags until our room was ready, then spent the rest of our time walking the beach, lounging by the pool and hanging out. dine at the on-site restaurant.
Other properties that would be perfect for a girls’ getaway include the Streamsong Resort (there’s a gorgeous spa with cave pools), glamping at Lake Louisa State Park, or renting a cottage in College Park.
Picnic worthy of a photo
Several local businesses, like Orlando Picnic, specialize in elaborate picnic facilities where all you have to do is show up and enjoy. You can also order a pasture box from La Femme Du Fromage, The Board Bunny or La Tabla and make your own spread. Our picnic planning guide has the full scoop.
Do you prefer a DIY approach? Make your way to Disney Springs and head to Wine Bar George’s quick service window to design your own picnic basket, including booze. As long as you spend $ 60, the picnic basket, glassware, and utensils are included.
Are you a little more artsy fartsy than your partner? Book a date night for activities you both enjoy equally, while attending artistic experiences with an artistic friend.
Some ideas for parties with artistic girls:
- Get tickets to the ballet or a Broadway show at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts (the Bösendorfer Lounge at Grand Bohemian Orlando is a great place for pre-show applications and drinks!)
- Check out the latest exhibits at the Orlando Museum of Art or attend the gallery’s monthly art event on the 1st Thursday
- See as many shows as possible at Orlando Fringe
- Attend a play at Orlando Shakes
- Enjoy brunch and a variety show at HAÖS on Church
- Immerse yourself in the arts with the artistic experiences of Creative City Project
Chic spa and pool day
We love a great spa day as a couple. But a girls’ day at the spa paired with lounging by a resort pool is just as fun. In the past, we’ve obtained day passes for the spa and pool from Groupon, and sites like ResortPass offer day passes for pools at local resorts. Most of the properties that participate also have fantastic spas. And we’ve researched local resort pools open to guests who don’t stay overnight with qualifying spa appointments or day passes.
A fun new alternative: My Beer Spa! This new spot on I-Drive lets you soak in tubs of water, hops, and antioxidants while sipping unlimited self-service craft beer and wine. Your private room also includes a sauna and the rooms can accommodate up to four people.
Dessert Only Date
Why not… dessert for dinner? While Orlando’s dessert restaurants are obvious choices for a sultry night out, they’re also great for girls’ nights out. At Better Than Sex, the risky decor, the chocolate-rimmed wine glasses and the cheeky-named desserts are sure to delight. The Glass Knife in Winter Park is another standout spot, with Insta-worthy sweets to enjoy with a glass of champagne. Our tip: order 3-4 desserts and share!

Dinner and girls’ night out at the cinema
No need to book this classic date combination just for a night out with your love. Meet a friend at the Eden Bar for cocktails and applications on the picturesque outdoor patio before catching a movie you’ve never heard of at the adjoining Enzian Theater. The Eden Bar has specials every day of the week, like discounts on tiki cocktails every Tuesday and mimosa deals on Sundays.
Periodic film festivals, weekly screenings of cult classics on 35mm films and spooky Halloween movies at Enzian will also spark interesting discussions! Here’s what’s playing now.
Gather your best friends for weekend brunch. It’s also a fun way to hook up some of your friends who might not have met before. Favorite places for a girls brunch include The Hampton Social, Canvas, Maxine’s on Shine, Reyes Mezcaleria, and Bulla Gastrobar.

Find your favorite spot
You probably already have a favorite restaurant or activity for a date. Why not have a special place to visit regularly with a friend? Lose track of the time spent talking and laughing at your favorite coffee shop, or designate a restaurant as a meeting place each month. It also makes it easier to schedule spontaneous meetings – just agree to meet at your location.
